L’autore inizia ricordando che quest’anno ricorre il 150° anniversario della morte di Rosmini. Da quel 1° Luglio 1855 ad oggi è stata tutta una risalita del suo nome e del suo pensiero, tanto che oggi viene ovunque riconosciuta l’attualità della sua influenza nella società internazionale, nella società italiana in specie. L’articolista conclude che si può legittimamente arguire che Rosmini oggi gode un buon indice di gradimento e che la generazione a noi contemporanea è disposta a scommettere sul suo nome e sul suo complesso patrimonio culturale. L’autore porta tre esempi di come Rosmini possa aiutare a superare le pesanti problematiche del pensiero odierno: l’oggettività formale dell’essere aiuta a vincere la tentazione del nichilismo, il divino nella natura riscatta il figlio della terra (Nietzsche) e lo nobilita come persona, la società teocratica tra Dio e l’uomo crea una comunione a livelli sempre più alti fino a raggiungere il suo vertice in Cristo. Rosmini è quindi un filosofo che fonda metafisicamente il pensiero dell’uomo e – una volta che ci si mette sui suoi passi – se ne resta affascinati e non lo si abbandona più.


The author begins by noting that the 150th anniversary of the death of Rosmini falls this year. From that July 1st 1885 until today there has been a continuous growth in interest in his name and thought, so that today, the pertinence of his thinking is recognised internationally, especially in Italian society. The author concludes that one can legitimately argue that Rosmini today enjoys a high level of appreciation and that the present generation is willing to take his contribution to cultural life as a basis for building their own. The author brings forward three examples of how Rosmini can help us to overcome the most pressing problems for current thinking: the formal objectivity of being helps overcome the tendency to nihilism; the divine in nature redeems the son of the earth (Nietzsche) and gives him dignity as a person; the theocratic society between God and Man creates a communion that is always tending towards higher levels until it reaches its summit in Christ. Rosmini is therefore a philosopher who gives a metaphysical foundation to thought on man and, once we start following in his footsteps, we remain fascinated by this and will not abandon it.
